Goal is set

I’ve been running for the past five weeks and it has been awesome. As of today I’ve logged in 42 miles (Woot! Woot!) and couldn’t be happier.

I have had a bit of trouble deciding how to proceed with my training. Whether to take it easy and slow or to push myself.

I’ve been trying different things these past few weeks hoping to find something that fits and although I’m not 100% sure I’m taking the best route I’ve decided to set goals for myself.

Distance with decent times. I remember running a 5k in 22 minutes when I was running a lot years back and I know it’s going to take a while to get there again. Seeing as I’m now struggling to run a couple miles in 25 minutes, I am going to start by attempting to run 2 miles in 20 minutes in 30 days, so by July 10th.

Weekly, I plan on running 2 miles a day at least 4 days a week.

So, goal has been set….now I hope it gets met.

Now for a motivation boost.

  1. Great post! I do a Friday Fitspiration post every week to get my readers and my on-air radio listeners motivated! I’ve recently been experiencing some laziness when it comes to running so these quotes are just what I needed! :-)

    • That’s great! :) I stopped by your blog last week and loved your fitspiration for the week, I’ll have to stop by on Fridays at your place for motivation. :)

  2. I’m tired just reading your post. Way to go. Running has never been my thing, but pilates is. I set goals for myself all the time, I will do that ball exercise by the end of the month, I will plank for a continuous 3 minutes …… one day. Great motivation quotes. Keep up the great work.

    • Lol thanks. :) Plank for 3 continuous minutes is ambitious, I can barely do 20 seconds. lol. But I think you just motivated me to challenge myself on the plank too. A 3 minute plank would be great bragging material don’t you think? Ah..but it may take me a year or two to get there. lol. what’s your time now??

  3. I hope you stay motivated. It can be really hard in the summer, but I guess the best thing is to just keep moving, whether running or walking or swimming or whatever. Keep up the good work. You have an Anthropolgie dress on the line, right? :) Thanks for stopping by to comment on Quirky Vistas again! I do appreciate hearing from you.

    • Thank you, Me too. And Yuppers I do. I visit their site and look at their dresses for motivation now lol. You’re very welcome. I enjoy your blog very much! :)

  4. Hi – visiting you from the blog hop. I know we follow each other on Daily mile, but I didn’t know what your blog was. So, it is nice to stop by and see your blog. How is it going toward your goal? I’m following you now.
    Have a great evening.

    • I’m not feeling to great about my goal at this point. I still have two weeks to go but I feel like I’m too far behind. How sad is that?! Can’t even run two miles!?!?! So sad. :(
