Organized pantry

This post is yet again documenting my need for wanting to purge my kitchen of all unnecessary plastic. Not only did this achieve my goal but it also keeps my pantry clean and uncluttered. For about a month my husband and I hunted down as many glass jars as we could. We nearly cleaned out the Goodwill food storage shelves. Within a month I had all I needed. I used hemp to wrap around the jars and hung mini chalkboards on them. I think they look pretty don’t you?

It makes finding what I need easy, it looks nice and clean and best off all, much less plastic in there. :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pantry at House of Smiths and am still strongly considering stenciling my pantry walls.

I am searching for these old crates. They’d be perfect for “hiding” all the smaller stuff in my pantry.

Don’t you just adore this pantry?!?!?!

If you have yet to see the movie Tapped, please do. It’s very informative. It’s about bottled water but touches the on the subject of plastic and PET and all of that. Plastic is plastic, and the less of it we use the better for ourselves as well as our planet. :)

Til next time,
♥ Karla

This is fantastic! Thanks for the inspiration to start getting rid of the plastic in our home. I completely believe in that cause and think it would be great. We made sure to buy natural fiber rugs when we shopped earlier this year – wool and jute, so much better than polypropylene.

Great job! I love all the labels, very efficient and it looks great as well! Jo-Anne’s sells these wooden crates for $11. If you saved up your coupons, you might be able to get what you need. They are unfinished, so you could paint them anyway you wanted. Way to be green! ;)

  2. Great work! Wanna come organize mine next? Thanks for sharing at last week’s Shine on Fridays party!

  3. Thanks for sharing Karla with the newbie party. This is what I need to be doing.
